Newsweek: Republicans Want ICE to Detain More Migrants: Is There Space?

Senator Ted Cruz and Representative Troy E. Nehls reintroduced the Justice for Jocelyn Act, aiming to expand ICE detentions despite limited capacity. The bill, named after a victim allegedly killed by an undocumented immigrant, seeks stricter enforcement measures.

Speaking with News Week, Anthony Enriquez, VP of U.S. Advocacy and Litigation at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, warned the legislation would cause operational disruptions and be costly, with ICE estimating a need for an additional $3.43 billion to implement such changes.
