About Us

Led by human rights lawyer and activist Kerry Kennedy, our team of attorneys, issue experts, advocates, entrepreneurs, and writers is united by a commitment to realize Senator Robert Kennedy’s dream of a more just and peaceful world.

We advocate for human rights issues and pursue strategic litigation to hold governments accountable at home and around the world. We foster a social good approach to business, celebrate agents of change, and to ensure change that lasts, we educate millions of students about human rights, training the next generation of leaders.

We work with the bravest people on earth—partners at home and around the world—to realize Senator Robert F. Kennedy’s dream of a more just and peaceful world. Working to expose injustice and heal pain and suffering, our pursuit of racial and economic equality forms the foundation of all our programs at RFK Human Rights.

“Let us dedicate ourselves to what the Greeks wrote so long ago: ‘To tame the savageness of man and make gentle the life of this world.’”

—Robert F. Kennedy

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights was created in 1968 to carry on Senator Kennedy’s legacy and forge ahead with his unfinished work―all in pursuit of the dream of a more just and peaceful world.

While our scope and reach have expanded substantially over the years, our commitment has been steadfast—to ensure freedom of civic activism, hold leaders accountable, and speak truth to power, in partnership with frontline advocates across the globe. This is the work we do to bring about lasting and essential change.

Working alongside grassroots partners in the US and around the world, our teams of lawyers confront systemic problems through litigation and advocacy aimed at structural change.

Within a network that includes some of the world’s most powerful fiduciaries, our team cultivates equity in the boardroom, across workforces, and in investment portfolios.

Through curricula, storytelling, and community engagement, our programs empower K-12 students, university students, and teachers to become human rights defenders in their own communities.
