Fanta NGom

Fanta NGom is the Director of the Business and Human Rights Department, leading a team that works with a network of 300 investors—who collectively manage $7 trillion in assets globally—as well as corporations to integrate social justice issues into their business and investment practices. Through convenings, mobilization campaigns, providing tools and educational resources, as well as rewarding best practices, Fanta is advocating for the visibility of the “S” in ESG, amplifying critical issues including the rights and dignity of workers, ethical tech, DEIA and access to capital for underrepresented fund managers, stopping the growth of mass incarceration, and climate justice.

Prior to joining Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, Fanta was a Global Product Marketer at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, providing marketing support, both onshore and offshore, for its Global Liquidity Business. In that role, Fanta helped to launch and build out marketing content for the Liquidity Team’s Ultra-Short Income Portfolio, which was the fastest-growing mutual fund in the U.S. in 2017. Due to the success of the fund, Fanta aided in the launch of a tax-exempt version of this fund in the U.S. as well as an offshore version, supporting marketing activities for launch and external promotions. Fanta was also the project manager for the development of marketing content for Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s ESG and Sustainable Investing efforts. She is the co-Founder of a developing nonprofit in Accra, Ghana, Protecting the Rights Of the Marginalized and Oppressed (PROMO), which seeks to address the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS in Ghana, focusing on not only treatment and prevention, but also the socio-cultural factors that can affect an HIV positive woman's wellbeing.

Fanta holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New York University and a Master of Public Health from George Washington University. She seeks to use her platform and expertise to address the mental and public health concerns that arise from human rights violations across the globe.
