CEO, Tonio Burgos and Associates
With five decades of business, government, civic involvement and legislative affairs experience, Tonio Burgos has successfully worked with clients on a wide range of projects in both the public and private sector for over 28 years.
Burgos worked for Mario Cuomo for 15 years, while Cuomo served as secretary of state, lieutenant governor and governor. Among his roles: Appointments Secretary, Commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Director of the Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corporation for the PATH rail system.
In addition, Burgos served as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Lower Manhattan Economic Development Corporation on Transportation Issues from under New York Governor George Pataki.
In 2002, New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey appointed Burgos as Vice Chairman of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and as a member of the School Construction Corporation, as well as Treasurer of the Camden Economic Recovery Board.
In 1995, President Bill Clinton appointed Burgos to the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS.
Burgos is a member of the board of trustees of the New York City Police Foundation, a Member of the Advisory Board of the New York City Partnership, the Steering Committee of the Association for a Better New York , and the Board of Directors and Leader’s Council for the Robert F. Kennedy Center. He serves as a Board Member of the National Parks of New York Harbor Conservancy, and on the New York Latin Media Entertainment Commission. He has served for over two decades as a member of the Democratic National Committee.
