Speech at the New Hampshire Democratic State Convention, Manchester, New Hampshire

Thousands of young men and women serve in the Peace Corps, in isolated villages and city slums all over the globe . . . Vista volunteers, workers for civil rights, young government servants and candidates for Congress— these are the new shape of America’s leadership. We have learned, as President Kennedy pledged we would, to judge a man’s rank by the size of the job he does, and not by his staff, his budget, or his previous reputation. We gave to the young people of America only the opportunity to serve—and they responded with a spirit and dedication which truly lit the world.

New year, new us. Same mission.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is rebranding to honor the legacy of our founder and hero, Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy. From now on, we will proudly be known as the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center

While our name is changing, our mission and work remain the same. We will continue to fight injustice, advance human rights, and hold governments accountable around the world in 2026 and beyond.
