I think that the Communist party as a political organization is of no danger to the United States. It has no following and has been disregarded by the American people for many years. It has been studied; attention has been given to it by newspapers, by Congressional committees. And so everybody in the United States has had the opportunity to analyze it. The result is that it is down to a bare minimal following. An organization even as small as the Communist party is in the United States (about ten thousand members) is dominated, financed and controlled by a foreign power. In that respect it poses a danger at all times, because it takes instructions and orders from an outside government.
