Statement by Kerry Kennedy on the 2024 Presidential Election

We believe in democracy and elections. Over 71 million Americans voted for the Republican ticket, and 66 million for the Democratic ticket. It is now time to reach out, to understand why, to heal the divisions, and to begin to build consensus in our country around justice, freedom, and compassion towards those who suffer.

It is up to all Americans to protect our great country, bolster the institutions of democracy, and protect the rights of all to criticize the government without fear of retaliation—especially members of the press, opposition political figures, defenders of civic space, and members of targeted groups.

At RFK Human Rights, we look forward to working with everyone interested in a more just and peaceful world.

New year, new us. Same mission.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is rebranding to honor the legacy of our founder and hero, Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy. From now on, we will proudly be known as the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center

While our name is changing, our mission and work remain the same. We will continue to fight injustice, advance human rights, and hold governments accountable around the world in 2026 and beyond.
