Anthony Hamilton – Comin’ From Where I’m From — southern soul meets deep storytelling.
If you had to be any type of bird, what type of bird would you be?
A hawk—sharp, grounded, and always moving with purpose.
What motivates you to be a changemaker in your community?
Where I come from, there’s no shortage of strength—just a shortage of support. I’m driven to create spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and backed, because I know what it’s like to grow up with something to say but nowhere to say it.
Capstone: Oh, to Be Young! Podcast
Too often, young people, especially Black and Brown youth in the South, do not have spaces to process the challenges of growing up. This silence leaves them to navigate hard seasons alone, creating isolation at a stage of life when community and connection are needed most. My project, “Oh, to Be Young!” is a podcast I created from a personal season of loss, transition, and reflection. The podcast will be a raw, honest, and reflective platform for young people to discuss the parts of growing up that are often silenced: identity, grief, heartbreak, healing, joy, and hope. With this capstone, I will secure licensing, plan and produce content, host a launch event, and release the first episodes to the public.
