Sylvester McClearn

Director, Emerging Manager Program, New York State Common Retirement Fund

Sylvester McClearn (Sly) is the Interim Director for The Emerging Manager Program for the New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF). Sly coordinates the investment activities and interactions with emerging managers. Sly acts as an ambassador representing NYSCRF in the extensive network of emerging manager fund marketplace. He monitors the $9.5 billion portfolio of public and private assets across Equities, Fixed Income, Real Estate, Real Assets and Credit/Opportunistic asset classes. Sly received both a B.S. and M.B.A. from Fordham University and is a Series 3, 7, and 24 licensed professional. Sly is a member of the Board of Trustees of Fordham University and serves on the strategic planning and the finance and investment committees. Sly is an active member in industry associations such as the National Association of Security Professionals (NASP), National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP) and Security Traders Association (STANY).
