What motivates you to be a changemaker in your community?

Coming from a displaced community in Cameroon, I have experienced firsthand the challenges and upheavals caused by the socio-political crisis. Being displaced at the age of 11 instilled in me a profound understanding of the struggles my community faces. This personal history fuels my commitment to advocate for and implement sustainable changes that improve the lives of those affected by similar experiences.

My Capstone
Capstone Focus Area: Immigration / Education

This capstone project is a multifaceted storytelling and research initiative aimed at amplifying the voices of internally displaced women (IDPs) from Cameroon and Cameroonian women and girls in the U.S. affected by the ongoing crisis. Through a multimedia approach, the project will create a series of visual montages—combining images, videos, and personal testimonies—telling the untold stories of women living through internal displacement and their struggles for survival. In addition to the multimedia publication, the project will conduct comprehensive research on two key aspects: the experiences of internally displaced women when displacement ends and the impact of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) on Cameroonian women in the U.S. The aim is to understand the connection between IDPs in Cameroon and those in the U.S. while raising awareness of this dire condition while advocating for their needs on a global stage.
