Stefan Kaluzny has been the firm’s founder and principal managing director since 2011. Prior to Sycamore Partners, Kaluzny was a managing director at Golden Gate Capital. Kaluzny was with Golden Gate Capital from its inception in 2000 until January 2011. While at Golden Gate Capital, he was involved in investments across a variety of transaction types and industries, including software, semiconductors, consumer products, and retailing. Prior to Golden Gate Capital, Kaluzny was co-founder and CEO of Delray Farms, a Hispanic specialty food company. Kaluzny has also held positions at consulting firms Bain & Company and LEK. He previously served on the Yale University Investment Committee, and previously on the Board of Trustees of Phillips Academy, a residential secondary school located in Andover, MA. Kaluzny received an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, and a BA in history from Yale University.
