Robin DeLuca-Acconi

Robin DeLuca-Acconi, Ph.D., LCSW, is currently the assistant dean for student services in the School of Social Welfare at Stony Brook University.

She is adapting Speak Truth to Power for undergraduate social work education, teaching students to use a human rights-based approach to social work practice that incorporates the stories of the defenders.

Her research focuses on advocacy, fair globalization, and human rights. She was a school social worker for 20 years, and this experience has led her to research the connection between human rights education and social-emotional learning.

She is a STTP lead educator and served on the Fair Trade and Civil and Human Rights Committee for the New York State United Teachers.

New year, new us. Same mission.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is rebranding to honor the legacy of our founder and hero, Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy. From now on, we will proudly be known as the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center

While our name is changing, our mission and work remain the same. We will continue to fight injustice, advance human rights, and hold governments accountable around the world in 2026 and beyond.
