Raelan Lambert

Global Alternatives Leader, Mercer

Raelan Lambert is a global leader in the alternatives industry. Lambert led Mercer’s global alternatives business from 2019 to 2025, encompassing 300 investment and other professionals across 32 offices worldwide. During her tenure, Alternatives’ AUM grew by 20% (5-yr CAGR) to >$40B of AUM and annual revenue increased by 10% over the same period, with global AUA of $182B. She led the integration of nine predecessor firms and surpassed the firm’s colleague engagement scores during her leadership. In 2020, Lambert led the launch of Leap, a private markets strategy focused on investing in alpha-generative managers historically under-represented in institutional client portfolios.

Lambert’s private markets experience dates to 2005, where she joined LPCA as employee #3, and contributed to scaling the organization through strategic growth and acquisitions; held leadership roles across risk management and advisory, and advised clients on private equity, special situations, co-investments, legacy asset management and fee compliance. Lambert became the global head of private debt in 2016, ultimately leading business development, market research, portfolio implementation and investment execution for all private debt strategies for clients. Previously Lambert held positions at Google’s Marketing Platform (f.k.a.DoubleClick), American Express and Goldman Sachs. She holds a BA in French language and literature from the University of Virginia and is fluent in French. 

Lambert has been recognized for her thought leadership and contributions to the industry (Industry Trailblazer Award – AIF Global, 2024; Influential Women in Institutional Investing – Pensions & Investments, 2024; DEI Initiative of the Year – Women in Asset Management, 2022) and has been featured in the media (Capital Allocators, Yahoo!
