What motivates you to be a changemaker in your community?
I am motivated by the sacrifices my parents made for my success. Watching their selflessness engrained in me a responsibility to service. I firmly believe the luxuries I have accessed through the gifts of my parents must be used for greater causes.
Capstone: Howard University Student Housing Initiative
This capstone addresses Howard University’s persistent housing crisis, where rising enrollment, limited campus capacity, and high costs push students into informal housing markets such as Facebook groups, sublets, and predatory private rentals. The project proposes aligning Howard’s real estate strategy with student-centered housing solutions by documenting unmet needs, mobilizing coalitions, leveraging economic data, and advocating for affordability, capacity expansion, and governance reform. By integrating institutional development with the lived realities of students, this initiative seeks to create a transparent, equitable housing ecosystem that secures safe, affordable, and stable options for all members of the Howard community.
