Michelle Haddix

Michelle Haddix is an American history teacher at Indianapolis Classical Schools in Indiana and has led her school’s commitment to engaging in an urban community through the Speak Truth to Power curriculum. Since she began implementing the STTP curriculum into her classroom, Haddix has worked with her students to develop the school’s first Black Cultural Union, a safe harbor where students of all nationalities have the chance to speak freely and openly about what it means to be black in a predominantly white school.

What Haddix enjoys most about her Speak Truth to Power program is the ability to place control and autonomy into the hands of young people who have a vision for justice. Outside of the classroom, she devotes her time to coaching area teachers at public schools and juvenile justice centers on the Speak Truth to Power curriculum, helping them to develop a program suitable for their classrooms.

New year, new us. Same mission.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is rebranding to honor the legacy of our founder and hero, Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy. From now on, we will proudly be known as the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center

While our name is changing, our mission and work remain the same. We will continue to fight injustice, advance human rights, and hold governments accountable around the world in 2026 and beyond.
