What motivates you to be a changemaker in your community?

Largely inspired by the rich history of civil rights activism in my hometown of Atlanta, GA, I have made it my mission to utilize my background and knowledge to fight for a more equitable society.
I have always been extremely passionate about advocating for individuals who have been unfairly treated by those in power, and I plan on building my platform to a point that enables me to enact significant change for marginalized communities across the globe.

My Capstone
Capstone Focus Area: Social Justice Advocacy

The Blueprint aims to address the unique career development challenges faced by Black students by creating a comprehensive support system tailored to their needs. This initiative will provide essential tools such as internship listings, resume builders, and interview guides, alongside a mentorship program connecting students with alumni and professionals for guidance. Additionally, it will host workshops and seminars on career skills, and foster a supportive community through regular meet-ups and collaborations with student organizations. A feedback system will ensure that the resources and programs remain relevant and effective, adapting to student needs and industry trends. Collaborating with GWU’s Career Center and alumni networks will support the project’s sustainability, ensuring it continues to provide valuable support and contribute to a more inclusive academic environment, ultimately enhancing career readiness and professional growth for Black students at GWU.
