
Luz Torres serves as the Development and Donor Operations Associate at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, where she plays a pivotal role in maintaining data integrity and managing donor gift processes. In this capacity, she oversees the Salesforce CRM system to ensure accurate donor records and collaborates closely with the development team to process and reconcile all incoming donations, ensuring compliance with audit requirements. Luz also leads donor acknowledgment and stewardship efforts, contributing significantly to events such as the annual gala.
Recently, Luz was the External Engagement Associate at Room to Grow, a nonprofit organization that supports families raising babies born into low-income circumstances during their early years. In this role, she led the volunteer program and fostered donor and community relationships, enhancing the organization’s visibility and mission impact. This experience provided her with a strong foundation in communication, outreach, and collaborative program support.
Luz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish from SUNY New Paltz. During her college years, she was actively involved in campus life, serving as a senator and Residence Hall Representative in the student government. She is also a proud member of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc., a Latina-based sorority dedicated to leadership, community service, and cultural awareness. Within the organization, she held multiple leadership roles, including Social Chairwoman, Vice President, and Treasurer. These experiences have shaped her leadership style and reinforced her commitment to equity and service values that continue to guide her professional journey.
