Felix Agbor Nkongho is a Cameroonian lawyer, human rights defender, and leading advocate for human rights of Cameroonians in the conflict stricken Anglophone region. As the director of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA), Nkongho spearheads the promotion of democracy, good governance, access to justice and rule of law. Nkongho alongside the CHRDA has trained thousands of young people, women leaders, community leaders and journalists in human rights monitoring , documenting and reporting.
Despite his arbitrary detention in 2017 after protesting peacefully against the Cameroonian government, Nkongho perseveres in his life-long work to advocate for human rights in Cameroon and all throughout Africa. In 2024, he was awarded the American Bar Association International Human Rights Award, an award that recognizes exceptional achievements by an individual as a defender of human rights outside of the United States consistent with international human rights law.
