Allison Gilmore

Program Manager, John Lewis Young Leaders

Allison Gilmore is a community leader and impactor with experience in nonprofit, government, and education. Hailing from St. Louis Missouri, Allison attended North Carolina A&T State University where she received her bachelors degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. While in college she served as the Student Body President and section editor for her university’s newspaper.

She most recently finished her Fulbright grant and United States Teaching Assistantship in Linz, Austria where she worked as a High School English language teaching assistant. While living in Austria, she actively served in her community as a volunteer caseworker for Caritas, Upper Austria. Allison is excited to be designing youth-facing programs and oversee the youth advisory board. She currently lives in Washington, DC with her sister and their cat Ban.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is rebranding to honor the legacy of our founder and hero, Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy. From now on, we will proudly be known as the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center

While our name is changing, our mission and work remain the same. We will continue to fight injustice, advance human rights, and hold governments accountable around the world in 2026 and beyond.
