Adam Leach, Ed.D.

Adam Leach, Ed.D., is currently a school counselor at Bangor High School in Maine. He has been an educator for 31 years, wearing the cap of history teacher, school counselor, soccer coach and union president during that time.

He is excited to be a part of the Bangor-RFK Partnership that has brought opportunities for the students, staff and community to expand their social, political and cultural competency. The Speak Truth to Power Program has helped Bangor High School use real world, high-impact experiences to develop human rights awareness and activism.

Since starting this partnership, Bangor students have engaged in young leaders workshops, spoken with world leaders, and attended the first STTP Emerging Leaders Conference in Washington DC. This experience has inspired the Bangor team to pursue human rights issues such as bringing EV Buses to the school fleet, banning single-use plastics in the school, and working to support the unhoused in the community. These initiatives will define the partnership for the next year and beyond.

New year, new us. Same mission.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is rebranding to honor the legacy of our founder and hero, Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy. From now on, we will proudly be known as the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center

While our name is changing, our mission and work remain the same. We will continue to fight injustice, advance human rights, and hold governments accountable around the world in 2026 and beyond.
