University of Dayton human rights award to honor Kerry Kennedy

​The University of Dayton’s Human Rights Center will honor Kerry Kennedy with the Oscar Romero Human Rights Award for her 40-year commitment to global human rights advocacy. Kennedy, president of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, has worked extensively to support human rights defenders worldwide. The award ceremony is scheduled for April 20 at the University of Dayton. The Oscar Romero Human Rights Award recognizes individuals or organizations demonstrating significant contributions to human rights.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is rebranding to honor the legacy of our founder and hero, Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy. From now on, we will proudly be known as the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center

While our name is changing, our mission and work remain the same. We will continue to fight injustice, advance human rights, and hold governments accountable around the world in 2026 and beyond.
