The Guardian: Senators demand answers on ICE’s use of full-body restraints on deportees

For years, ICE has been locking people on deportation flights in a full-body restraint device called “The WRAP.” Despite its stated purpose as a temporary, emergency restraint, immigration officers strap people into it for hours on transatlantic flights – punishing them for seeking asylum.

Now a group of Senators is demanding answers. In a letter published earlier this week, a group of 11 Democratic Senators call for transparency and accountability about ICE’s use of the device.  

Reporting on their letter, the Guardian references Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights’ pending lawsuit on the issue: K.N.N. et al v. United States of America.
