PIX11: NYC woman lives in ‘constant fear’ after months-long ICE detention

50-year-old Larysa Kostak was at a routine court hearing when three masked officers grabbed her, put her in shackles, and sent her to a notorious immigration detention facility hundreds of miles from her home. 

After months in detention and a prolonged legal fight by Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, Larysa was finally freed – but now, the Trump administration is threatening to re-detain her.

Speaking with PIX11 about the administration’s ongoing legal action against Larysa, our Director of Strategic U.S. Litigation Sarah Gillman said, “It’s a classic bully move. Cruelty is the point of most of what they’re doing.”
