The Associated Press: Daughter of assassinated civil rights leader sees painful echoes of political violence in America

In Jackson, Mississippi, daughters of civil rights icons Medgar Evers, Vernon Dahmer, and Robert F. Kennedy gathered to honor Evers’ 100th birthday and reflect on the enduring threat of political violence in America.

Kerry Kennedy urged the crowd to remember not only the legacy of these leaders, but also the hatred that cut their lives short. Stacey Abrams joined the convening to condemn efforts to erase civil rights history and called for continued resistance in the face of injustice.
