RFK Human Rights Responds to False Report on Moroccan Television

(February 29, 2016 | Washington, D.C.) Earlier this month, on February 19, 2016, Laayoune Television broadcast a false report that Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights had cancelled a planned trip to the region and halted all of the organization’s human rights work regarding Western Sahara.

In light of these false reports, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights reiterates its commitment to the rights of the Sahrawi people, including the right to self-determination. Our organization will continue to work with Sahrawi civil society and human rights defenders, including Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award Laureate Aminatou Haidar, towards the full realization of human rights in Western Sahara.

New year, new us. Same mission.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is rebranding to honor the legacy of our founder and hero, Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy. From now on, we will proudly be known as the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center

While our name is changing, our mission and work remain the same. We will continue to fight injustice, advance human rights, and hold governments accountable around the world in 2026 and beyond.
