In San Diego (June 25-27), hear a keynote from Eva Pacheco, founder of EJE Academies; attend a workshop to learn how to improve digital literacy using human rights and film; learn from innovative local educators and administrators; take a human rights education walking tour; and attend a special screening of With This Light followed by a talk back with the Executive Producer Jessica Sorawitz. Receive academic credit for attending through UCSD. Register by Friday, June 16.
In New York (June 29-30), meet human rights defenders Iman Le Caire, founder of Trans Asylias, and Dale Williams, Executive Director of Midnight Run; participate in a story exchange led by Narrative 4 and learn how to use narrative as a tool for human rights education in your classroom; take part in workshop lessons with lead educators, who will share effective strategies for integrating HRE in any subject area. Register by Friday, June 16.
In Austin (July 27-29), join students and educators in sessions featuring multiple ways to teach HRE through the arts: A theater workshop, an interactive filmmaking workshop with Austin based ConnectHer, and a human rights-themed art tour of the Blanton Museum of Art. In addition, hear a keynote by news commentator and Evangelist for Good, Jehmu Greene; learn strategies for connecting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with HRE; attend a special screening of With This Light ; and connect with innovative local educators and community leaders. Receive up to 18 hours professional development credit through AISD. Register by Friday, July 14.
