Newsweek: Will Trump’s Executive Order Require Americans to Carry ID or Face Arrest?

President Donald Trump’s immigration-related executive orders include the revival of an 80-year-old law requiring immigrants to carry proof of their status—raising concerns among civil rights groups. Anthony Enriquez warns that the policy could lead to American citizens being wrongly detained if they fail to prove their citizenship on the spot. RFK Human Rights plans to monitor the order’s implementation and assess whether the government has the resources to issue identification to all affected individuals.
