What We're Reading: Mexico Stubbornly Resists Accountability
POSTED ON JAN 7, 2016

In September 2014, 43 students forcibly disappeared in the mountainous state of Guerrero, Mexico. Almost a year and a half later their families are still grieving and searching. As this New York Times Editorial rightly asserts, the Mexican government should allow the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts full access to interview members of the military who may have been present at the scene of the crimes. Only by taking concrete steps towards accountability, will Mexico one day be freed from the savagery that has gripped a nation which has lost 26,000 disappeared souls.
