Report: Human Rights Abuses on the Rise in Already Repressive Gambia
February 2015

In February 2015, RFK Human Rights released a widely publicized and well-received report on the increasing human rights crackdown that has taken place in The Gambia, a country that has suffered under an increasingly brutal dictatorship for two decades. Another advocacy priority for RFK Human Rights, we have worked tirelessly to help raise the level of international media attention on The Gambia, with our staff writing numerous published articles and op-eds on the deteriorating human rights environment that currently prevails, including serious human rights violations against LGBT people. RFK Human Rights has emerged as a trusted and go-to organization for Gambian activists, both living in the country and the in the diaspora, as well as for journalists and other human rights groups interested in cooperating on joint advocacy initiatives.
