Hyannis Port, Mass. –On Friday, October 12, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, in partnership with Mrs. Ethel Kennedy, hosted the 29thAnnual Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Golf Tournament to raise funds for the organization’s ongoing human rights efforts around the globe. The event raised over $600,000, from individual and corporate donations, which will go towards the group’s work advocating for a more just and peaceful world. Through its partnership with local activists, and the organization’s team of leading attorneys, advocates, entrepreneurs, and issue experts, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights has freed political prisoners, defended the rule of law in autocratic regimes and amplified the voices of human rights defenders in the United States and abroad.

“We're grateful to everyone who came out to support Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights' mission of creating a more just and peaceful world, said Kerry Kennedy, President of Robert F. Kennedy Human Right. Despite the weather, today was a special day of friendly competition and a chance to enjoy the beauty of Cape Cod.”

The annual tournament held at the Hyannisport Club attracted a host of celebrity golfers from across the United States. Participants competed in a longest-drive and a putting competition.

Mrs. Kennedy was joined by more than 125 guests, including acclaimed actors Bill Murray, Chris Tucker, Matt McCoy, and Dennis Haysbert, former Pittsburgh Steeler Max Starks, former Red Sox players Jim Lonborg and Sam Horn, and Congressman Steny Hoyer.

Now in its 50th year, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights continues to fight to improve human rights internationally with efforts partnering alongside local activists to ensure lasting positive change in governments and corporations.

The 2018 tournament was made possible by presenting sponsor Chrysler, as well as the generosity of Nike, Coca-Cola, Dooney & Bourke and many other corporate and individual supporters.
