Kristina Varganova

Senior Social Advocacy & Media Manager

Kristina Varganova (she/her) is the Senior Social Advocacy and Media Manager at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. She oversees the organization’s social media presence, including that of our President Kerry Kennedy, using digital platforms to mobilize audiences, drive advocacy, and combat misinformation.

Working closely with the U.S. Advocacy and Litigation team, Kristina creates fact-based, accessible content that translates complex immigration policies and legal briefs for broader audiences, including conducting in-person client interviews for public-facing advocacy campaigns.

Prior to joining RFK Human Rights, Kristina served as a Media Associate at Human Rights Watch, where she assisted with documenting Russian war crimes during Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine. She also worked at the United Nations World Food Programme as Special Assistant to the Director of its New York office.

Kristina is a 2024 Emerging Leader in Foreign Policy Fellow with the Carnegie-Maxwell Policy Planning Lab. Born and raised in Uzbekistan, she holds an M.A. in International Relations from New York University and a B.A. in International Relations and Russian Literature, Language, and Culture from Syracuse University.

New year, new us. Same mission.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is rebranding to honor the legacy of our founder and hero, Mrs. Ethel Skakel Kennedy. From now on, we will proudly be known as the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center

While our name is changing, our mission and work remain the same. We will continue to fight injustice, advance human rights, and hold governments accountable around the world in 2026 and beyond.
