UN Slams Biden Immigration Policy As Possible Treaty Breach

The UN recently published a report criticizing President Joe Biden’s approach to immigration policy and noting the United States’ violations of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

Speaking with Law360, our VP of U.S. Advocacy & Litigation Anthony Enriquez comments on the news.

“The Human Rights Committee’s Concluding Observations lay bare the shameful treatment of immigrants in for-profit detention centers, including sexual abuse from guards, overcrowding, and inadequate access to food, water and medical care, that has led to the deaths of numerous people, including children. Immigration detention is a stain on the U.S. human rights record and the Biden administration should take immediate steps to eliminate its use.”
