Belén Bonilla

Belén Bonilla is a Program Associate at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, where she provides operational and programmatic support to the Advocacy and Litigation team. She previously served as a William Randolph Hearst Fellow at the Aspen Institute, advancing nonprofit research and organizing event logistics for the Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation. Belén has interned at Promundo-US, where she administered event planning support and drafted messaging around gender equality and violence prevention education.

Belén is a native of San Antonio, Texas and has also previously interned for the Martinez Street Women’s Center in San Antonio, Editorial Projects in Education, and the City of San Antonio Department of Human Services. She has spent time studying and advancing LGBTQ justice initiatives for Afro and Indo-Guyanese populations in Georgetown, Guyana, and served as a dialogue facilitator at the American University Center for Diversity and Inclusion, bridging difference across diverse student groups. Belén received her B.A. in International Relations from the American University in Washington, D.C. with an emphasis in Identity, Race, Gender and Cultural Studies.
