What motivates you to be a changemaker in your community?

The vision of a future in which all people, regardless of gender, race, religion, ethnicity, etc. are afforded the right to live and maintain healthy and productive lives, free from inequality, is what inspires to me be a changemaker. Though I know I cannot fix all the problems of society, I am committed to making an impact in this world by speaking up and out about injustice and boldly challenging the status quo.

My Capstone

Capstone Focus Area: Mental, Sexual, or Physical Health and Safety

My capstone project is the production of a documentary entitled, Through Her Eyes: Behind the Scenes of the Maternal Health Crisis, which will center the stories and accounts of Black mothers and their families and passionate reproductive justice advocates to provide illusive perspectives on the maternal health crisis. Highlighting the high rates of maternal and infant mortality in Guilford County, a province of Greensboro, NC, the documentary will shed light on a pressing national issue.
