David Sheng

Managing Director, Aksia

David Sheng is a managing director on the portfolio advisory team at Aksia and is responsible for alternative investment programs in the Americas, focusing on hedge funds and private credit. Sheng leads alternatives coverage for Aksia’s institutional Canadian clients. Prior to joining Aksia in 2018, he was a senior manager research analyst at Man FRM focused on sourcing and evaluating alternatives strategies, as well as active portfolio management. Prior to Man FRM, Sheng was a VP in the institutional fixed income division at HSBC and Morgan Stanley. In 2023, he was recognized as a Knowledge Broker by chief investment officer. In 2024, Sheng was named Institutional Consultant of the Year by Institutional Investor. Sheng graduated from Princeton University with a BA in economics and holds an MBA from Columbia University. He has a young son and toddler daughter and is open to any city parenting tips in exchange for classical violin lessons.
