Rebecca Sheff

Rebecca Sheff joins Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights as the Wilson Fellow after serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Roy W. McLeese III at the D.C. Court of Appeals. Rebecca previously worked as a legal fellow at Human Rights First, advocating for the protection of human rights defenders in the Middle East and North African region and lobbying Congress on closing space for civil society. Rebecca earned her B.A. in Political Science from Macalester College and her J.D. from NYU School of Law, where she spent a semester supporting Haitian human rights defenders through the Global Justice Clinic and another semester covering human rights treaty compliance issues at the State Department. Rebecca has additional experience working with LGBT communities, sex workers, and migrants in Burundi, India, Senegal, and Zimbabwe
