Chris Buckley has been involved with RFK as a STTP Lead Educator for the last several years. He participated in one of the early Teacher Training Workshops held in DC and now liases with teachers in Connecticut and New York. The STTP curriculum has been a great addition to his classroom and he has developed both specific projects around defenders as well as worked it into district curriculum.
Through his work with RFK, he became connected to the folks at the Thomas J. Dodd Center at UCONN and has led teacher trainings for pre-service and veteran teachers as well. Over the last two years, he has presented about STTP and Human Rights Education at the Annual Conference for the National Council for Social Studies (Boston and New Orleans) and is scheduled to present again this year in Washington DC. He is in his 15th year teaching and the connection to the STTP curriculum has helped to make his classroom more engaging and applicable to students.
