Ursula Burns is a Founder of Integrum and member of the Investment Committee. Ursula most recently served as Chairwoman of VEON Ltd, a global telecommunications company, where she held the roles of Chairwoman from June 2017 and Chairwoman and CEO from December 2018 until June 2020. She was previously the Chairwoman of the Board of the Xerox Corporation (?Xerox?) from 2010 to 2017, CEO from 2009 to 2016, and President from 2007 to 2009. Ursula Burns was the first African American female CEO of a Fortune 500 Company. Under her leadership, she oversaw approximately 150,000 employees across nearly 150 countries. Ursula joined Xerox as a mechanical engineering intern in 1980 and during her career, held leadership posts spanning corporate services, manufacturing, and product development. During her tenure as CEO, Ursula helped transform the company from a global leader in document technology to the world's most diversified business services company, serving enterprises and governments of all sizes. Shortly after being named CEO, she spearheaded the largest acquisition in Xerox history, the $6.4 billion purchase of Affiliated Computer Services. Ursula, who regularly appears on Fortune’s and Forbes’ list of the world's most powerful women, is a Director of Uber, Exxon Mobil, Endeavor Group Holdings, Waystar, IHS Towers and Plum Acquisition I, and MerchantE. She is also Non-Executive Chairwoman of Teneo Holdings LLC. Former U.S. President Obama appointed Ursula to help lead the White House national program on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) from 2009 to 2016 and appointed her as Chair of the President?s Export Council from 2015 to 2016, after her service as Vice Chairwoman from 2010 to 2015. Ursula also served as the Vice Chairwoman of the Business Roundtable and the Chairwoman of the Technology CEO?s Council. U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson selected Ursula to serve on the Gender Equality Advisory Council of the G7, which will champion the core principles of freedom, opportunity and dignity for women and girls around the world. In addition, Ursula provides leadership counsel to several other community, educational, and nonprofit organizations, including the Ford Foundation, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Corporation, Cornell Tech Board of Overseers, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York City Ballet, and the Mayo Clinic, among others. She is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the Royal Academy of Engineering, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Ursula holds a master?s degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
