David Breach

Investment professional David Breach is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Vista Equity Partners (Vista), a leading global investment firm that focuses exclusively on enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses. Mr. Breach sits on the boards of several Vista portfolio companies, including EagleView, Solera and Stats Perform. He is currently a member of Vista’s Executive Committee, the firm’s governing and decision-making body for matters affecting its overall management and strategic direction, as well as Vista’s Private Equity Management and Private Equity Funds’ Investment Committees. Mr. Breach previously held the role of Chief Legal Officer and has been with Vista since 2014.

Prior to joining Vista, Mr. Breach was a Senior Corporate Partner with the law firm Kirkland & Ellis, where his practice represented private equity funds. While at Kirkland & Ellis, Mr. Breach was a member of its 15-person global executive management committee and was a founding partner of its San Francisco office.

Mr. Breach is a thought leader in the legal and investment communities, providing his expertise at conferences and events around the world. Mr. Breach has appeared on the Market Narratives podcast series “Finding Your Synchronous Fit” and co-authored the chapter “Investment Management” in the treatise “Successful Partnering Between Inside and Outside Counsel.”

Mr. Breach earned his undergraduate degree in business with a concentration in sales and marketing from Eastern Michigan University. He later graduated magna cum laude with his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He continues to support the university through the David A. and Emily A. Breach Law School Scholarship Fund and David A. Breach Deanship.
