Protecting Universal Human Rights. Defending Democracy in Ukraine.

Since Russia openly defied international law by launching a military invasion into Ukraine, grave human rights violations have become a reality projected across the world in real time.

As our founder, Ethel Kennedy, has said, "For anyone to achieve something, he will have to show a little courage. You're only on this earth once. You must give it all you've got."

For us at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, that means building upon our 54-year legacy of promoting peace, protecting civic space and holding governments around the world accountable as we call for the immediate halt of hostilities, strict adherence to human rights and humanitarian law, and the protection of civilians within and outside Ukrainian borders affected by this crisis.

As we continue this work, we are strengthening our RFK Human Rights Defenders' Emergency Fund to assist defenders on the ground. This Fund covers immediate needs for human rights defenders, including relocation costs, security and safety equipment, but also covers longer-term legal defense costs.
