Too often, sexual orientation and gender identity are used as the basis for discrimination, even today. While lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people have made tremendous strides toward realizing full equality in recent decades, significant challenges remain. Robert F. Kennedy Human rights is committed to advancing the cause of LGBT rights around the world, particularly through its partnership with Frank Mugisha , Uganda’s leading LGBT rights activist. Last year, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights' International Strategic Litigation Unit assisted Frank and his colleagues in their successful campaign to overturn Uganda’s 2014 Anti-Homosexuality Act.
